Basic
Keys:
To move the cursor, use the 2, 4, 6 and 8 keys.
The
* and # keys cycle through all track pieces.
Placing
Track Pieces:
Press 5 to place a track piece.
When
the cursor displays a red cross inside it, a track piece cannot be
placed at that position, for example when it overlaps with an existing
piece.

Layers:
Tracks can have more than one layer on them, as in the picture. However,
if there is insufficient room for a new layer the cursor will appear
with a cross over it.
Eraser:
The right menu button toggles the eraser. Move the cursor over a piece
you wish to delete and press 5 to remove it. Press the right menu
button again to return to normal editor mode.

Moving
Platforms:
Choose where you want the platform to start and press 5 once to
place it.
You
then need to set the width of the platform using 4 and 6 keys (your
bike is two squares wide).
Once you have decided the on the width, press 5 again to set it.
You
must now set the path that the platform will travel. Platforms can
move in any direction, except backwards from their start point,
so always begin at the leftmost side. To move the platform to its
end point, use the 2, 4, 6 and 8 keys. The blue line that appears
as you move the platform shows the path that the platform will take.
Platforms move back and forth in a straight line.
Platform
examples:

When
you have decided where the endpoint will be, press 5 again to confirm
it. Once this is done the editor will only show you the platforms
start position - don't worry, as it will remember the path you set
for it.
Tip:
Build the stationary sections of track either side of the platform
before putting in the moving platform.
Options
menu:
The left menu button brings up the Options menu.
Back
- This will return you to the Editor screen.
Play
Track - This allows you to play the track you're editing.
Save
Track - This saves the current track in the editor. There is
only one save slot, so it will overwrite any previously edited track.
Load
Track - Loads the most recently saved track.
Insert
Column - This will insert a blank space into your track.
First, move to the point where you want to insert it.
Then
press 5 to insert a space. You can insert a longer space by pressing
5 as many times as necessary.
Note:
Inserting a space into a track with more than one layer will insert
a space into all layers, as in the picture.

Delete
Column - This removes a space/track piece across all layers.
Move to the point where you want to remove a column, press 5 and
all pieces to its right will move left to meet the line.
Copy
- This allows you to copy a section of track. To select the track
you wish to copy move the line so that it is set to the leftmost
point of track section you wish to copy
Press
5 to mark the start point. The text at the bottom of screen will
then say "Copy End" (together with the column number).
Move cursor to the end of the section you wish to copy and press
5 again.
Now
you can paste this section elsewhere into the track.
Select
the position where you would like to place the copied section of
track. Press 5 to insert.
This
process can be repeated as many times as you wish.
Notes: Copying a section of track copies all layers in the track.
Also, pasting a section of track inserts the selection, rather than
overwriting any existing track.
Paste
- This pastes a previously copied section of track into the level.
This works as above.
Note:
The paste function will only paste pieces into the editor at the
same height (Y axis) as they were copied.
Clear
Track - This clears all track pieces from a level.
Help
- Shows a brief overview of the editor functions.
Exit
Editor - This returns you to the main menu. All unsaved changes
will be lost.
Tips:
The
maximum track length (X coordinate) is 300 pieces. The maximum depth
you can place track (Y coordinate) is 255.
All
tracks must have a Start and End Flag before they can be tested.
If you wish to test a track before completing it, you must first
place an end flag, which you can delete after you've finished playing.
The "Clear Track" option will leave you with a completely
empty level with no start point. You must remember to place a green
Start Flag down first. Also, adding a couple of pieces of flat track
after the Start Flag will make your track play better as this is
where the motorbikes will be at the beginning of the race.
Save often. There is no undo feature in the editor except the eraser,
so once you are happy with a section of track save it!
If you are creating a track that has more than one layer of track
on it, remember that the Insert/Delete Column and Copy/Paste function
will affect not only the layer you are working on but also those
above and below.
